Clearwater International advises WAREMA Renkhoff SE on the acquisition of Anwis Sp. z o.o. from ARX Equity Partners
Clearwater International has advised WAREMA Renkhoff SE (WAREMA), the European leading producer of sun shading solutions and control systems, on the acquisition of the Poland based Anwis Sp. z o.o. (Anwis) from private equity firm ARX Equity Partners. The transaction is subject to approval by competition protection authorities.
WAREMA is the leading European provider of solutions for sunlight management. The company is headquartered in Marktheidenfeld in Lower Franconia (Germany) and is the holding company for a strong portfolio of companies divided into two divisions: Sun & Living Spaces and Plastics & Engineering. WAREMA was founded in 1955, by Hans-Wilhelm Renkhoff and Karl-Friedrich Wagner, and now has more than 3,800 employees around the world. The company generated more than €500m in sales during 2018.
Anwis, founded in 1979, is a Polish manufacturer of internal and external sun shading systems. The company, based in Włocławek, employs c. 470 people and achieved sales of €32.6m in 2018.
Angelique Renkhoff-Mücke, CEO of WAREMA said: “The acquisition of Anwis is part of our international strategy.” Through the acquisition of Anwis, WAREMA will be able to continue the development of its global footprint and provision of high-quality products. Anwis will join the group as an independent company in the Sun & Living Spaces sector and will remain a separate brand that strengthens the market position in Eastern Europe.
This means that WAREMA and Anwis will be run independently of one another. WAREMA will be able to support Anwis’ international growth ambitions, leveraging on strong customer relationships and cutting-edge technology.
With this acquisition, WAREMA now has four brands in the Sun & Living Spaces sector (in addition to the core WAREMA brand): Caravita, Exterra, Wings Professional and Anwis. The services in the diverse portfolio range from sun and weather protection to living space design.
