Clearwater International advises on the partial sale of Helsam Gruppen to Dansk Ejerkapital and co-investors

Clearwater International has advised the owners of Helsam Gruppen, on its partial sale to private equity group Dansk Ejerkapital, and co-investors Thomas Thomsen and Henrik Thulesen.

Since its foundation in 1985 by six health nutrition retail owners, Helsam Gruppen has embarked on a journey from a traditional wholesale business to a dynamic brand with three branches: 1) the Helsam retail chain, which includes 27 physical stores throughout Denmark; 2) Helsam Engros, specialising in wholesale to health nutrition stores; 3) and online-shop Mecindo, which sells health nutrition directly to consumers.

Helsam Gruppen aims to lead the way to a healthier life through a concept that offers Denmark’s most extensive range of health nutrition, with a focus on high quality and sustainability. This range includes health nutrition, dietary supplements, food, cosmetics, and skincare products.

Dansk Ejerkapital is a Danish private equity fund, investing in small and midsized businesses with significant growth potential and highly effective management teams striving to become market leaders in their respective markets. Thomas Thomsen brings extensive experience in B2B and B2C business models, with a strong focus on driving the sustainability agenda, while Henrik Thulesen contributes vast experience in professionalising businesses.

Together with Dansk Ejerkapital and the co-investors, Helsam Gruppen aims to continue its growth journey with a focus on becoming a leading force in health nutrition and personal care. They plan to develop their concept while continuing to guide and set the path toward a healthier lifestyle, by offering consumers the highest quality products.
