Clearwater International advised Forensic Testing Service on its sale to Forensic Access

Clearwater International has advised Forensic Testing Service (FTS), a leading provider of drug, alcohol and DNA testing services designed specifically for family law and childcare proceedings, on its sale to Forensic Access, a UK-based provider of analytical services to the legal, policing and clinical sectors and a portfolio company of Limerston Capital Partners (Limerston).

Founded in 2009 and located in West Yorkshire, FTS provides a specialist level of forensic investigation, testing and reporting in child protection cases where drugs and alcohol are a contributing factor. Using its own accredited lab, the business has pioneered a unique model of best practice supported by data-driven processes that have revolutionised the testing process.

Established in 1986, Forensic Access was set up to ensure that legal defense teams could access the same level of forensic science expertise as their counterparts in prosecution. Today the business is widely recognised as a market leader providing a breadth of forensic science services.

Both businesses offer complimentary services, technical skills and accreditations. The transaction will provide the opportunity to increase capacity and expertise for Forensic Access’s existing toxicology business as well as expand and diversify the Group’s client base.
