Clearwater International advises the shareholders of Archiva on the sale of a majority stake to Progressio SGR

Clearwater International has advised the shareholders of Archiva S.r.l. (Archiva), an Italian company offering services of data and digital documentation management, digitalisation processes, and consultancy, on the sale of a majority stake to Progressio SGR S.p.A. (Progressio SGR), an independent private equity firm focused on investing in Italian mid-market companies, through its “Progressio Investimenti IV” fund.

Founded in 1974 and based in Villafranca di Verona, Italy, Archiva operates in the IT sector and its value proposition lies within the combination of specialised services and software development, leveraging state-of-the-art technologies such as cloud and AI, and covering the areas of document management, hyper-automation (RPA and BPM), as well as consultancy on regulatory, digital, and methodological review issues of certain business processes.

Progressio SGR is an independent private equity firm focused on the Italian mid-market segment. Led by Managing Partner Filippo Gaggini, the firm has managed funds worth more than €730m and completed 23 investments, with 16 add-on transactions and 17 divestment transactions in its portfolio.

Progressio SGR aims to support Archiva with its ambitious organic and inorganic growth plan by enriching the company’s services to strengthen partnerships with key customers. Archiva’s Chairman and CEO, Giuliano Marone, has reinvested alongside Progressio SGR and will maintain his operational role, confirming his full involvement in the project.
