Clearwater International advises MAGENWIRTH Technologies GmbH on the sale of bebro electronic GmbH and eSystems MTG GmbH to KATEK SE
Clearwater International has advised MAGENWIRTH Technologies GmbH (MAGENWIRTH), a German family holding focusing on technology, combining hydraulics, composite and electronics, on the sale of bebro electronic GmbH (bebro) and eSystems MTG GmbH (eSystems) to KATEK SE (KATEK), a portfolio company of industrial holding PRIMEPULSE SE. The transaction is subject to approval by competition protection authorities.
For more than 125 years, MAGENWIRTH has been a leading provider of hydraulic, composite, and electronic products and services. With more than 1,100 employees worldwide, MAGENWIRTH creates state-of-the-art technical solutions. With headquarters in Bad Urach (Germany), the group generated €215m in revenues during 2018.
For almost 50 years, bebro has been offering services in the area of electronic and mechatronic assemblies, devices and systems, covering the complete value chain of an EMS service provider. The spectrum ranges from development and prototyping, to the production of medium batch sizes and after-sales services. The group includes the subsidiaries beflex electronic GmbH (beflex), with branches in Munich and Witten, and bebro electronic s.r.o. based in Horni Sucha (Czech Republic). Through close collaboration with customers and engineers, beflex specialises in the development of prototypes and small batches.
eSystems develops electric mobility solutions and systems for renowned automobile manufacturers worldwide, such as intelligent charging solutions for electric vehicles as part of Smart Home and Smart Grid. Together, bebro and eSystems generate a turnover of approximately €90m and employ 550 staff.
KATEK is one of the leading electronics service providers (EMS) in Germany, generating a turnover of more than €275m, with 1,750 employees across locations in Germany and Eastern Europe. The range of services covers the entire life cycle of electronic assemblies and devices, from development to material and project management, to production and testing technology as well as logistics and after-sales services. KATEK represents the EDMS business area of PRIMEPULSE, a Munich-based technology oriented investment holding.
