Clearwater International advises Hvacon Marine Systems on its sale to Capidea

Clearwater International has advised Hvacon Marine Systems, an energy optimisation expert, on its sale to private equity fund Capidea, and co-investors.

Hvacon Marine Systems is a market leader within energy optimisation solutions and software for the maritime industry. Its services, ranging from individual parts to turnkey projects, showcase extensive expertise in engineering and software development. This allows Hvacon Marine Systems to provide customers with tailored advice, and develop and execute projects. The company’s solutions secure reduced electricity consumption, resulting in lower CO₂ emissions, which supports the green transition in the maritime industry.

Capidea is a Danish private equity fund with a current portfolio of 28 companies, making long-term investments in competitive small and medium-sized Danish companies. Established in 2006, it invests in companies within trading, distribution, service, IT, and manufacturing.

In close partnership with the management team, Capidea will contribute to the continued growth and development of Hvacon Marine Systems. The former owners and management team, Claes Fog Bølge and Anbjørn Ådland, will continue as significant shareholders and manage the company. Furthermore, Hans Ottosen and Henrik Elbæk Pedersen become new shareholders, bringing their technical and commercial experience to the company, as chairman and board member, respectively.
