Clearwater International advises Technic Aviation on its sale to the Domusa Group

Clearwater International has advised the shareholders of Technic Aviation, a recognised independent player in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services for critical aeronautical equipment, on its sale to the Domusa Group (Domusa), a leading MRO and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) partner in the aviation market, backed since June 2023, by French private equity investment firms, Galiena Capital and Irdi Impulsion.

Technic Aviation is recognised in Europe and Africa for its unique expertise in MRO services for wheels & brakes and propellers & regulators developed over more than 40 years, involving the overhaul of over 70,000 critical equipment pieces. Offering proficiency in complex overhaul operations such as non-destructive testing, surface treatment, and painting across various materials including composites, the company caters to various aviation platforms. Technic Aviation has established a client portfolio of key accounts with exclusive, long-term contracts and has become an authorised repair station for leading propeller manufacturers. Headquartered in Manosque, in south-eastern France, it boasts a workforce of nearly 50 across production sites in Manosque and Toussus-le-Noble, and anticipates a revenue exceeding €9m in 2023.

With a revenue of €40m, Domusa provides comprehensive support in the field of onboard equipment to major aerospace and defense contractors in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The group’s expertise spans both OEM and MRO domains concerning electronic and mechanical equipment, in both civil and military markets. Headquartered in Toulouse, with sites in Paris and Switzerland, Domusa manufactures its own products and provides maintenance services for its equipment and third-party systems. The group’s focus areas include electronic control, power management, power filters, sensors, and mechanical navigation aid instruments.

This transaction allows Domusa to continue the deployment of its industrial project aimed at structuring a specialised aerospace and defense group, with a dual positioning in OEM and MRO. Olivier Marche, the managing shareholder of Technic Aviation for 12 years, will oversee the integration of the company into the group in 2024.
