Hedima, a Spanish based training consultant, has acquired a 60% stake in Gestion del Conocimiento, SA, a Spanish based education consultant providing training and knowledge management solutions, from Suma Capital SGECR SA, the Spain based private equity firm, for an undisclosed consideration.
The combined entities are expected to employ over 300 people with a combined turnover of €30m wherein €20m expected from Hedima and the rest from Gestion del Conocimiento. The integration of the entities is expected to create complimentary synergies.
In May 2009, Suma Capital acquired Hedima along with Vector Capital SCR SA,private equity and venture capital firm, as part of a management buyout transaction, from La Caixa, a Spanish based bank, and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, a Spanish based university, for an undisclosed consideration.
