Clearwater International has advised management on the acquisition of the leading asset manager, VPV Bankiers, from Commerzbank.
VPV Bankiers, formerly known as Dresdner VPV, is a prominent Dutch asset management firm with a banking license. It specialises in providing discretionary asset management services to high-net-worth individuals and manages several investment funds. Following the sale of Delta Deelnemingen Fonds in February 2010, VPV Bankiers now manages assets totalling approximately €1.3bn. The company is headquartered in Gouda.
Established in 1989, VPV Bankiers was acquired by Dresdner Bank in 1999. Discussions regarding an MBO started after the acquisition of Dresdner Bank by Commerzbank, the second-largest bank in Germany.
