Clearwater International advises Girbau Group on its cross-border joint venture with Shanghai Shen Guang

Clearwater International advises Spanish industrial laundry equipment manufacturer Girbau Group, on its joint venture with Chinese Shanghai Shen Guang.

The transaction is in line with Girbau’s strategic plan to increase its share in the Chinese market.

With over 50 years’ experience, Girbau is a family-run business that manufactures low cost, robust laundry equipment. The firm operates across the UK, Spain and France, and has 15 commercial subsidiaries around the world, together with an extensive distribution and service network in more than 100 countries. The company’s primary focus is to offer best value, the highest wash quality and laundry efficiency.

Shanghai Shen Guang manufactures and supplies industrial laundry dryers and laundry equipment. The products are supplied to hotels, hospitals, schools and universities, the armed forces and various mining industries, amongst other commercial customers.

Girbau will control the newly established company and plans to inaugurate a new production centre in July, with more than 15,000 sq. metres devoted to the manufacture of machinery for laundries.
