NavAero AB sold to Global Eagle Entertainment Inc

NavAero, a Swedish developer of tablet-based electronic flight bag systems, has been acquired by US group Global Eagle Entertainment Inc in a deal advised by Clearwater International.

NavAero’s electronic flight bag (EFB) systems provide airline pilots with navigation solutions based on aircraft-dedicated and tablet-based personal electronic devices that enable paperless cockpit operations. The company has also developed a number of other related technologies which extend the functionality of its EFB systems. These include cockpit door and cargo compartment surveillance systems, universal aircraft interface devices (UAIDs) which combine with other aircraft systems, and wireless connectivity.
