Clearwater International advises Vitae Caps, S.A. on its sale to Kensing, LLC
Clearwater International has advised Vitae Caps, S.A. (Vitae Naturals), a global leader in manufacturing plant-based ingredients for the food sector, on its sale to Kensing, LLC (Kensing), the speciality chemicals manufacturer.
Founded in February 2000 and based in Talavera de la Reina, Toledo, Spain, Vitae Naturals is the global leader in the production of plant-based sterol esters and non-GMO natural vitamin E derivatives for the food, nutrition, and skincare. Vitae's product range includes proprietary formulations, comprising antioxidant systems, microencapsulated vitamin E and plant sterol esters. Its portfolio of products is sold globally to clients in more than 40 countries across five continents.
Based in Kanakee, Illinois, US, Kensing is a leading manufacturer of a broad range of speciality chemicals derived from vegetable oils including plant sterols, natural vitamin E, anionic surfactants, and esters. Kensing serves a diverse array of customers across the home and personal care, pharmaceuticals, nutrition, and agricultural markets. Kensing became a portfolio company of One Rock Capital in June 2021, when the private equity firm bought one of the plants of the multinational BASF in the US.
The acquisition of Vitae Naturals aims to integrate two complementary businesses in the plant-based ingredients sector and enhance the growth of both companies, as well as reinforce Kensing’s production of natural-based and healthy antioxidants.
