Clearwater International advises the Cinq Mondes group on the reorganisation of its shareholding structure

Clearwater International has advised the Cinq Mondes group (Cinq Mondes), a specialist in cosmetics for spas, on the divestment of a significant stake to Group Batteur.

Cinq Mondes, the French pioneer in cosmetics for the spa industry, was founded in 2001 by Jean-Louis Poiroux. Cinq Mondes operates a network of twenty high-end hotel and urban spas. In 2019, the group launched Biovive, its new brand of fully organic cosmetics sourced from France based on gemmotherapy.

The group built a new partnership with Group Batteur, the parent company of Laboratoires Gilbert, a pharmaceutical and cosmetic group. Located in France, Laboratoires Gilbert develops, manufactures, packs and sells more than 30 brands. The group is known for its expertise in pharmacies and para-pharmacies. This strategic partnership will enable Cinq Mondes to rely on Laboratoires Gilbert’s sales force in pharmacy to accelerate the development of its brand Biovive. In addition, Group Batteur will benefit from Cinq Mondes’ expertise to strengthen its brand Algotherm internationally.
