Selling a share to an investor (partnership deal)

Many owners have reached a point in their company’s evolution where they would like to bring in a partner who can contribute to the company's continued growth. This may involve expanding operations internationally or making add-on acquisitions to increase market share. In growing companies there is also significant value creation which can be difficult to realise. By selling a share of the company to an investor who can also contribute, it is possible to realise large parts of the accumulated value while retaining a significant ownership in the firm.
