Clearwater International advises Intuitis, Bpifrance and the management of ACM on its sale to a leading French industrial group

Clearwater International has advised Intuitis, Bpifrance and the management of ACM, a strategic player in the French nuclear industry, on its sale to a leading industrial family group.

Founded in 1948 by the Fiorda family, ACM is renowned for its design and manufacturing of pressure equipment for complex environments. Based in the region of Lyon, France with two industrial sites in Saint-Priest and Saint-Clair-du-Rhône, the group, initially positioned in the chemical sector and has become the leader in the manufacturing of heat exchangers for major contractors in the nuclear and pharmaceutical sectors.

Currently booming, thanks in particular to the renewal of equipment for the existing nuclear fleet and new projects in France, as well as in the United Kingdom and India, the business outlook for the nuclear sector is very promising.

When the group was taken over in 2016 through a buy-in management buy-out (BIMBO), Frédéric Moireaud joined the management team consisting of Vincent Perrot and Sébastien Grillon. Under this impetus and with the support of Intuitis, a private investment structure, and Bpifrance, through its FDEN fund, the group has transformed itself, modernising its industrial tool and repositioning itself on custom-made equipment with high added value.
