Ralph Schmücking

As one of the co-founders of Clearwater Germany and "co-architect" of the international Clearwater Group, I am now primarily the contact person for succession solutions and growth projects for German-speaking SMEs. Thanks to more than 30 years of trustful cooperation with company owners, corporates, private equity investors and family offices, I have a deep understanding beyond M&A-related issues. Credibility, commitment, and the drive to achieve goals are the key feedback from the clients we advise. 

Before co-founding Clearwater Germany in 2000, I worked as VP M&A in a former DAX30 company and as co-founder of the German M&A business of a Big4 audit firm.

In my private life, family, traveling, various sports activities and social projects provide a healthy balance.

Laurent Camilli

As a founding Partner of Clearwater France, I lead the international real estate team and the healthcare sector in France. Since the inception of the company I have completed over 80 transactions with clients who return to us time and time again, and not only rely on Clearwater for sound M&A advice, but trust us to take care of all their corporate issues. In line with the values of Clearwater, I’m very considerate of the needs of my clients, their targets and their environment in order to find solutions which exceed their expectations. I started my career at Vivendi (formerly Generale des Eaux) before setting up an advisory company (Auxiliaire de Finance) where I advised anglo-saxon funds in acquisitions of non-performing loan portfolios. I went on to join Close Brothers and developed the company as a MD and CEO. In 10 years, Close Brothers became a major player in the mid-market M&A segment with strong exposure in leisure, healthcare and real estate.

Timo Lehmann

I started working in the Swiss mid-market M&A advisory business in 2020 and I am currently Manager at Clearwater Switzerland. My previous experience includes internships at Lincoln International and Waterland Private Equity and a part-time position in the Venture Capital division of TX Group. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Banking and Finance from the University of St. Gallen.

Norbert-Markus Roth

I support the German-speaking countries of Clearwater as a Senior Adviser and together with our debt advisory team, I advise medium-sized companies and groups on a variety of financing issues and accompany them throughout the transaction process. Before joining Clearwater, I was Head of Origination Corporate Finance / Equity Capital Markets at Commerzbank AG having joined in 1999. At Commerzbank AG I advised on transactions with a focus on mid and large-cap companies in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. I started my career as a Security Trader at FSE and continued as Head of Syndicate at DZ Bank AG responsible for mid-cap transactions. As a corporate finance expert, I specialise in advising IPOs, capital raising, secondary offerings, spin-offs, private equity buy-outs and debt advisory.

Søren Nørbjerg

I have worked in M&A since the 1990s when the discipline was still in its very beginning and have been a part of Clearwater's journey from a small start-up to the position we hold today. The many years of advising have taught me that no two transactions are the same and that it is essential to be able to immerse in our clients' reality to understand their business and their visions for the future. Besides my role in Clearwater, I practice my great passion for wine as co-owner and manager of a vineyard in Bourgogne.

Joe Dyke

I have spent the last 20 years working with owner-managed businesses and private equity clients, predominantly on fundraising projects for growth and shareholder value realisation. I am comfortable advising across the whole capital structure and passionate about helping growing businesses succeed. I joined Clearwater in 2016 and before that worked for various organisations including RBS, Grant Thornton, Legal & General, and WH Smith Group.

Carole Merbouh

I joined Clearwater as an Assistant in February 2022, having previously worked for the L'Oréal Paris group for almost three years. At Clearwater, I support the collaborators to facilitate and optimise the administrative management of their activity. I chose to join the company for its international environment, corporate culture and team dynamics. I enjoy working with the teams on a variety of projects, as this makes my role more interesting and meaningful. I have a master’s in Management and Business Strategy.

Giulia Dupuis

I joined the Debt Advisory team at Clearwater in October 2023 and focused on advising companies across a wide range of sectors as well as private equity firms on diverse financing projects. Prior to this, I worked for four years in the investment banking division of UniCredit as part of the Acquisition and Corporate Structured Finance team. I hold a Grande École degree (Master in Management) from ESCP Business School in Paris, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Rome, where I grew up. Outside of work, I enjoy immersing myself in modern art, savouring the diversity of French and Italian cuisine and wines or exploring new destinations around the world.
