Clearwater International advises The Institute of Education on its sale to Dukes Education

Clearwater International has advised The Institute of Education, one of the best known schools in Ireland, on its sale to Dukes Education, an international schools group with more than 32 schools across the UK and Europe. The Institute of Education and Dukes Education both share a common vision, values, and a strong culture of excellence.

The Institute of Education, based on Leeson Street in Dublin, is a multi-denominational, co-educational school founded in 1969 by the late Ray Kearns. With a staff of 200, it currently provides senior cycle tuition and exam preparation courses in 28 Leaving Cert subjects, to over 7,000 full and part-time students annually.

Dukes Education believes The Institute of Education has an excellent reputation as one of Ireland’s most pioneering, private, second level schools. There are no plans to change the name, current operating model, or teaching arrangements of the Institute, as it will very much be a case of business as usual. The Principal of The Institute of Education, Yvonne O’Toole, is to continue in her current role. The Managing Director of The Institute, Peter Kearns, is to step down, but will maintain an interest in the business, while fellow Director, Úna Kearns, is to leave the organisation after 22 years.
