Richard Ellis

I am a Director within the Clearwater Growth team. I joined Clearwater in 2014 having previously worked at BDO where I qualified as a Chartered Accountant. I’m a deal leader with a focus on TMT and have advised on a number of deals in the sector including Palatine Impact’s investment in e-days Absence Management and the sale of Union Square to Deltek Inc. I’ve also advised on a number of high-profile transactions outside of TMT including the sale of Westleigh to listed Countryside Properties plc and Sidhil to US corporate, Drive DeVilbiss.

At Clearwater, I've had the opportunity to advise on a wide variety of transactions and a range of clients, including owner-managers, institutional investors and large corporates, ensuring no two days are the same. A significant amount of effort and work goes into every transaction, often with numerous ups and downs along the way. It is often a life-changing event for our client so the feeling you get from completing a deal is a real highlight. 

I had the privilege of being awarded Young Dealmaker of the Year at the East Midlands Dealmakers Awards in 2018. 

Francisco González

I joined Clearwater International as an intern in August 2020 and held that position for four months whilst finishing my bachelor degree. I re-joined the business as an Analyst in July 2021 after completing my degree. I decided to start my career at Clearwater because of their brilliant team, their exposure to various sectors, and their European leadership in corporate finance. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Sciences and Management from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and completed a student exchange programme at the University of California San Diego (UCSD).

David Serra

I’m a pure M&A professional since I started working in 1995, initially at Deloitte Corporate Finance, then progress at Robert W.Baird for a while and finally became one of the founding partners at Clearwater Spain, where I really enjoy leading both the TMT and Business Service practices in my country coordinating a bunch of outstanding and challenging professionals. Before joining Clearwater in 2001, I worked as Managing Director at Granville Baird Investment Banking Spain, and as Manager at Deloitte, in its corporate finance division. In that regard, I have successfully closed over 40 national and cross-border deals in multiple sectors. At Clearwater, I have led over 30 transactions worth a total value of more than €900,0m. These include the acquisition of Vector Software Factory by its management from Banco Santander, the acquisition of Walter Martinez by RECA Group (Würth) and the acquisition of Diode by GTI, among others. I have the strong conviction that our M&A practice brings tremendous value and satisfaction to our clients, especially since many of them ask for our services again, several years after we concluded a deal together.

Emma Hughes

As the Head of Marketing, my role is to oversee the international marketing team who are collectively responsible for marketing activity across the business. The team produce all client facing marketing collateral including sector publications, e-mail marketing, social media, and website content. The team are also responsible for PR and internal communication across all the Clearwater offices. I joined Clearwater in December 2019 following three and a half years as Marketing Manager at a boutique corporate finance advisory business in Birmingham. I have over seven years’ experience in marketing across a variety of sectors specialising in digital marketing. It’s great to part of a dedicated and passionate marketing team who collaborate to celebrate the successes of a strong international business.

Agatha Tufnell

I joined Clearwater in January 2024, as a PA based in the London office. My role is to provide support to the International COO, Partners, and team members within the consumer team. Prior to this, I was at an international fine jewellery business based in West London, providing support to the Director. Overall, I have over three years of experience as a Private PA, working for a range of high-net-worth individuals. I am pleased to be part of the Clearwater team, taking on the new challenge of working in a corporate environment.

Daniel Kringelbach

I'm doing my master's in Finance & International Business, and I engage a lot in my studies. From roles at Aarhus Symposium, International Case Team, to my grad program, I've gotten into M&A and Corporate Finance, which led me to Clearwater in November 2023. I'm ambitious and hardworking, giving my all – whether at work or on the soccer field.
