Clearwater International advises Lightyears on sale to Fritz Hansen

Danish design company Lightyears, a developer and manufacturer of high-quality lamps for the professional and private consumer market, has been sold to home décor specialist Fritz Hansen in a deal advised by Clearwater International.

Lightyears was established in 2005 and has since witnessed massive demand from both Denmark and abroad. The company's unique collection is available in more than 60 countries and is created in close co-operation with recognised designers and architects including Cecilie Manz, GamFratesi, Jo Hammerborg and Henning Larsen.

Fritz Hansen is a leading design brand, also known as Republic of Fritz Hansen. The company collaborates with renowned designers - such as Arne Jacobsen, Poul Kjaerholm and most recently Jaime Hayon - to produce quality furniture. Fritz Hansen's designs include classics such as the Egg, the Swan and the Series 7.

Fritz Hansen and Lightyears share a common set of values: focusing on designing simple, functional and aesthetic products of high quality. Lightyears is expected to continue its impressive growth both nationally and internationally, as well as realising the company's full potential as a Republic of Fritz Hansen brand.
