Clearwater International advises Domnin de Kerdaniel and Filippo Monteleone on the acquisition and financing of Essling Capital

Clearwater International has advised Domnin de Kerdaniel, CEO at CVC Capital Partners (CVC), 3i and KKR, and Filippo Monteleone, founder of Careit, and former Ramsay Group’s CEO, on the acquisition of Essling Capital, an independent GP specialised in private equity, from Chestone Investment Groupe, owned by Franck Noël-Vandenberghe.

Since its founding, Essling Capital, with €450m in assets under management, has offered private equity services, including a co-investment fund in Europe and the United States and has led investment small and mid-cap funds for fast-growing companies operating in the digital sector, healthcare and B2B as part of the Essling expansion.

Domnin de Kerdaniel has more than 20 years of experience in finance in Europe, Asia and North America, including the last 20 years in private equity. He focused mainly on the mid and large LBO sectors including Zumbotel / Wassal, Legrand, SeLoger and Delachaux. Filippo Monteleone was Executive VP for 15 years at the largest French private hospital group, Groupe Ramsay. He founded Careit, the first real estate group dedicated to healthcare, and supported the transformation of the health system, championing innovative operations and projects.

Domnin de Kerdaniel and Filippo Monteleone started their careers together at Worms & Cie. They teamed up five years ago to develop Careit, a healthcare investment activity and platform in Europe. Together, they worked as advisor and investor on several transactions, including Eurazeo / C2S, from its acquisition to its recent sale to the ELSAN Group. They have collaborated with Essling Capital on several of these transactions.

Domnin de Kerdaniel and Filippo Monteleone have become respectively CEO and Chairman of Essling Capital. They will help further develop the current investment strategy with the current teams and hope to shortly launch an investment initiative dedicated to the healthcare sector in Europe.
