Clearwater International advises Troldtekt on its sale to Kingspan Group plc

Clearwater International has advised one of Denmark’s leading brands in building materials, the wood wool-based acoustic panels manufacturer, Troldtekt, on the sale to the listed international manufacturer of building materials, Kingspan Group plc (Kingspan).

Troldtekt’s history dates back to its foundation in 1855 and makes it one of the oldest companies in Denmark, that is still active. Its products have undergone an impressive development from ceiling panels in pig stables back in the 1980s, to being one of the most prominent Danish brands in building materials. The company’s iconic wood wool panels are internationally recognised in architecture, design, and acoustics, and used in several Michelin-starred restaurants as well as cultural institutions, office environments and private homes, inspired by Nordic building style and organic materials and design. All products are manufactured in-house at the highly automated factory in West Jutland, which ensures internationally competitive exports to the whole world, including Australia, Israel, the US, and Canada.

Over 20 years ago, Troldtekt began to focus on the production of sustainable building materials, a focus that has resulted in a number of recognisable international rewards and certifications, including the Cradle to Cradle certification, which is an essential part of their business strategy. The company’s continued focus on developing products with a sustainable offset has recently led to the launch of acoustic panels with a negative CO2 footprint.

Founded in 1965, Kingspan is a listed Irish building materials group with global activities. Troldtekt’s ambitious approach to sustainability goes hand in hand with Kingspan’s comprehensive sustainability program, Planet Passionate, and the goal of CO2 neutral production without net emissions by 2030.
