Clearwater International advises Tenzing’s Ticketer on the acquisition of FARA A/S

Clearwater International has advised Ticketer, a portfolio company of Tenzing Private Equity, on the acquisition of FARA A/S (FARA).

Ticketer is the UK market leader in bus transport revenue and information collection. Ticketer’s electronic ticket machines (ETMs) are installed across the majority of service providers in the UK, and are supported by a fully integrated back office intelligence system providing service providers information across route tracking, timetables, asset monitoring and reporting.

The investment in Ticketer, in October 2018, was the fourth from Tenzing’s maiden £200m (EUR235m) fund, which hit its hard cap in January 2017. Founded in 2015, the firm invests in high-growth, niche market leaders and challenger businesses across a wide range of industry sectors in the UK lower mid-market.

FARA, which has offices in Norway, Poland, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, shares the same core philosophy as Ticketer, to make travel easier for passengers. Through use of the very latest technology in ETMs, back office software and passenger facing apps, they focus on providing Real Time Information (RTI) for use on board, online and on mobile to increase the use of public transport.

FARA and Ticketer are leaders in their respective markets and have strong reputations for industry leading research & development as well as project delivery. Ticketer’s acquisition of FARA will strengthen the company’s product and service offering, as well as its expansion into mainland Europe.
