Clearwater International advises on the sale of Ballylinch Stud

Clearwater International advised Killeen Group Holdings on the sale of Ballylinch Stud to American businessman, John Malone. The sale follows a strategic decision by Killeen Group Holdings to exit the bloodstock industry in Ireland.

Ballylinch Stud is renowned in international bloodstock circles and is home to some of the most prestigious stallions in the horse racing world. The Stud, based in Kilkenny, lies on approximately 1,000 acres of exceptional real estate and is one of Europe’s longest established stud farms.

The Mahony Family, owners of Killeen Group, commented that they are particularly pleased to have completed the sale of Ballylinch Stud to John Malone, given his longstanding commitment to, and international standing in, the bloodstock industry.

Attracted by the strong reputation Ballylinch has built over many years and coupled with his passion for horse racing, this acquisition will allow John Malone to continue the development of Ballylinch into a premier European stud farm.
