Clearwater International China advises Odfjell Terminals Asia on the divestment of its indirect 55% equity holdings in Odfjell Terminals (Jiangyin) to Yangzijiang Shipbuilding

Odfjell Terminals Asia is a provider of global tank storage services owned by Odfjell Terminals BV (OTBV) and Lindsay Goldberg (LG). Odfjell Terminals provides safe and efficient storage for vital liquids, chemicals, and oil products at strategic international shipping hubs, with locations across Belgium, Korea, China and the USA. Odfjell also has a terminal network in South America which is partly owned by related parties, consisting of 13 terminals.

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding is one of the largest private shipbuilding companies in China. The Group is listed on SGX Mainboard since April 2007, and is currently one of the Straits Times Index constituent stocks. With four shipyards in Jiangsu Province, along the Yangtze River in China, the Group produces a broad range of commercial vessels including large containerships, bulk carriers, and LNG carriers, serving orders from a well-established customer network covering North America, Europe and other parts of the world. Since listing on SGX, the business has delivered consistent growth for the past ten years.

In 2018, Odfjell SE announced, through the stock exchange, that LG was considering a sale of its 49% shareholding in OTBV. Following LG’s successful sales of its shareholding in terminals in Europe and USA, the company is now in the process of selling its shareholding in the Asian terminals. As a result, Odfjell SE has decided to participate in LG’s sale of its indirect shareholding in Odfjell Terminals Jiangyin.
