Clearwater International advises Sentinel Performance Solutions Group on its sale to Aalberts N.V.

Clearwater International has advised Sentinel Performance Solutions Group Limited (Sentinel), a leading UK supplier of products to improve the performance of heating and closed water systems on its sale to Aalberts N.V. (Aalberts), a global industrial technology group headquartered in Utrecht, the Netherlands and listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. The sale marks the exit for majority shareholder Electra Private Equity Plc (Electra), who invested in the business in 2011.

Based in Daresbury (UK), Sentinel specialises in the development and distribution of chemical and filtration products to clean, protect and maintain heating and cooling systems in buildings through the optimisation of water quality. The Sentinel portfolio of additives, filters, and scale inhibitors ensures heating and cooling systems operate efficiently delivering energy savings, improvements to heating system performance and prolonging their operational life.

The Sentinel product range will complement Aalberts’ existing portfolio and becoming part of a larger group will enable Sentinel to further strengthen its global presence and accelerate its growth plans.

The experienced management team of Sentinel, led by David Barrett, will continue to manage the company, with Sentinel becoming the specialist water quality division within Aalberts’ hydronic flow control. Sentinel’s base location in Daresbury will utilise the resources of Aalberts’ hydronic flow control in St Helens and across Europe to facilitate future growth.
