Clearwater advised Monviso in the acquisition of a 100% stake in the Italian company Grissinificio Europa.
Grissinificio Europa, established in 1990 with headquarter in Guarene (Piedmont), is a breadsticks and bakery goods producer: the range of products includes straight breadsticks, artisan breadsticks, savory snacks and artisan biscuits. The company markets its products under three brands: “Osteria Italia” – gourmet line, “Grissinificio Europa” – conventional line, “La Buona terra” – organic line representing about a third of total sales. The company has also a white label production and in 2017 abroad sales exceeded 60% of revenues.
Monviso, based in Andezeno (TO), specialized in the production of bakery products like rusks, breadsticks and biscuits, was acquired in early 2018 by the French private equity funds Céréa Partenaire and Capzanine.
For Monviso, the acquisition of Grissinificio Europa represents a relevant opportunity to complete its products portfolio, to boost sales in the organic segment and consolidate its presence in the specialized channel.
