Clearwater International advises leading label converter X-label on its merger with RAKO and Baumgarten

Clearwater International acted as sole financial adviser to leading German label producer X-label, on its merger with German RAKO Group and the Brazilian market leader Baumgarten. The joining of the three family-owned regional champions forms a new leading international firm. With a combined total of more than 3,000 employees at 30 production sites worldwide and 2,000 clients from various sectors and industries the group generates revenues of more than US$500m.

Following the merger, the newly formed group can provide its vast product range to its global client base, from Latin America through Europe across to Asia. Further organic and external growth is ensured by the involvement of the strategic investor GENUI under the leadership of Dr Andreas Jacobs.

The group specialises in the production of innovative labels as well as packaging and supply chain solutions across various fields including home and personal care, automotive, Food & Beverage and healthcare. Renowned companies such as Procter & Gamble, Henkel, Beiersdorf, Unilever, Shell, Johnson Controls, Zur Muehlen Group and Nestlé are among the group’s client base.
