Clearwater International advises Lagerwey on its sale to Enercon

Clearwater International has advised the founders and management of Lagerwey, an innovative Dutch developer and manufacturer of wind turbines, on its sale to Enercon, a German wind turbine manufacturer.

Founded in 1979 by wind turbine pioneer Henk Lagerweij and headquartered in Barneveld, Lagerwey owes its strong reputation in the market to the simplicity and high reliability of its technology. With more than 130 employees, the company has a turnover of €50m. Clearwater previously supported Lagerwey in 2016, through obtaining growth capital from Ponooc, an investment fund of Pon Holdings.

Headquartered in Aurich, Germany, Enercon has installed over 28,000 wind turbines worldwide since its foundation. With more than 18,000 employees, the company achieves a yearly turnover of over €4bn.
