I am an Associate Director in the M&A team in our Manchester office having joined Clearwater in March 2017 as an Associate. The role involves a wide variety of day to day tasks including preparing key documentation and financial analysis, co-ordination and management of information flow, preparing and attending pitches, interaction with clients, other advisers and interested parties, and providing support for our clients throughout the full deal process. I am also part of the wider industrials and chemicals team.
Why did you join Clearwater International and what keeps you here?
Clearwater has a fantastic reputation in the Corporate Finance market and I liked the idea of working for a Partner led, entrepreneurial and rapidly growing firm. It was clear to me that Clearwater was a market leader in the Manchester market and was regularly advising on landmark transactions throughout the UK and Europe. When meeting the Partners and other members of staff throughout my recruitment process, it became apparent that it was a team I wanted to work with. Clearwater is also expanding internationally, we now have 15 offices throughout Europe and Asia and have over 200 employees; this was another great pull factor for me.
What is the highlight of your time with Clearwater International?
It is hard to pick a single highlight but deal completions are always a great moment as it often brings an end to months of hard work across the team and can be a significant value creation moment for our clients which we have directly contributed to.
How have you developed since joining the business?
Since joining Clearwater, the role has given me great experience working with impressive entrepreneurs and individuals and exciting and rapidly growing businesses. The role has quickly developed my project management and analytical skills.
Why is CWI a great place to work?
For me there are two main reasons; the people and the deals we work on. The Clearwater team has some exceptional individuals that I have learnt a lot from since joining the firm and there is very much a one-team feel throughout all offices where anyone is willing to go the extra mile to help each other out when needed. The range and quality of deals we work on is also a big pull factor for me; we have developed a reputation for quality, adaptability and deliverability which results in us working on some of the most high profile transactions across the UK and Europe.
