Clearwater International advises VIGO Health on its investment from Irish Life Group

Clearwater International has advised VIGO Health, a new digital health business providing fast access to everyday healthcare on receiving investment from Irish Life Group, one of Ireland’s leading financial services organisations.

VIGO Health, founded in 2021 by Stephen Loughman and Ruth Bailey, offers a new way for people to access fast healthcare for their everyday needs through a combination of strong digital healthcare solutions and cash benefits. The founders, who have over 40 years of experience in the health insurance industry between them, recognised the need for broad health benefits coupled with excellent service specifically for people that did not have hospital insurance.

The VIGO Health solution was developed based on in-depth research to understand the needs of people who had chosen not to have hospital insurance but who want a healthcare solution that is more relevant to their needs. VIGO Health offers access to over 30 everyday health services under one plan for less than €10 a week on one digital platform.

Irish Life Health, part of the Irish Life Group, underwrites the cash benefits of the VIGO cash plan.

The Irish Life Group is one of Ireland’s leading financial services organisations with over 1.3 million customers and for 75 years has served customers life insurance, pension, and investment needs, and more recently, health insurance. Since July 2013, Irish Life has been part of the Great-West Lifeco group of companies, one of the world’s leading life assurance organisations. Great-West Lifeco and its subsidiaries have over CAD$1.3tn in consolidated assets under administration and are members of the Power Financial Corporation group of companies.
