Clearwater International raises record-breaking €56k for North West charity Mancunian Way

In Clearwater International’s latest regional CSR initiative, corporate finance professionals across Manchester gathered at Gorilla last week for the Y Factor, where a phenomenal €56k was raised for local charity Mancunian Way. The event has raised more money than the charity has ever raised before and is enough to fund homeless projects for the next two years.

Clearwater International’s CEO, Mike Reeves and Director at ABN Amro Commercial Finance, Jeremy Smith brought the band back together, allowing 10 acts to compete for the much sought after Y Factor trophy – including Clearwater Partner and Head of TMT Carl Houghton. Each act performed to impress our celebrity judging panel including Penny Haslam, Paul ‘Boy George’ Johnson and Aziz Ibrahim, followed by a live vote from a sold-out audience for a chance to win the Y Factor trophy.

This latest sponsorship builds on Clearwater’s commitment to support charities and local initiatives through the Clearwater International Foundation, and its ongoing support for teams to take part in various activities to raise funds. As part of Clearwater’s wider CSR initiatives, the Foundation supports the improvement of peoples’ lives throughout the world, providing support through volunteering and hands-on-help.

Nick Buckley, CEO Mancunian Way, said:

“Raising £50k has exceeded our expectations, and is enough money to support our homeless projects for the next 2 years. However, we are not going to wait 2 years to spend it - we will expand what we do and get more homeless individuals into employment now. We are overwhelmed and would like to thank everyone for their generous donations.”

Michael Reeves, CEO Clearwater International, said:

“A huge amount of effort was put into the Y Factor and every performer put their heart and soul into the eventing to make it a very special event. We are very proud to have been a part of it, made a difference, and supported Mancunian Way in such style.”

Fundraising pages are still open, so if you would like to donate please click here or alternatively text MANCHESTER to 70085 to donate £5.
