Clearwater International congratulate Invictus Games’ hero

Ex-Royal Marine Andy Grant won three medals at the inaugural Invictus Games. Liverpool-born Grant claimed two gold medals on the track, emerging victorious in both the 400m and 1,500m. He then rounded off a hugely successful day with a bronze in the pool, finishing third in the 50m freestyle.Clearwater International were pleased to have been able to support Andy’s preparations by donating the money for him to purchase a custom carbon bike to use for training (over 60% of his workouts are spent cycling).While out serving with 45 Commando, Royal Marines in Afghanistan, Andy was critically injured in an IED explosion in which he suffered 27 injuries, and as a result of which had to have his right leg amputated. Since this life changing experience Andy has gone on to become a well respected motivational speaker and a para-athlete.Phil Burns, Managing Partner at Clearwater International, said: “Andy has done a fantastic job, and we are extremely pleased to have been able to provide our support. He is an inspiration to everyone, coming from such adversity to achieve his goals. We will continue to support him however we can in his bid to reach the Paralympics, and we want to congratulate him and the GB team on their successes in the Invictus Games.”
